Storyline : The movie starts with a chilling scene of a Dalit Groom’s procession which ends up into a bloody shootout because of the inconvenience of a Thakur family. During all the massacre, Dalit man Roop Ram is killed minutes before her wife’s second delivery. His wife delivers a baby girl but loses her husband. The scene brings out the Uttar Pradesh of 1982, caste and gender discrimination was surging and infanticide was prominently practised.
The film takes a lead and cuts into the year 2005 where the newborn girl has become a fiery and headstrong young woman named Tara (Richa Chadda).
The movie then traces the storyline where Tara struggles with the love, betrayal and discrimination while breaking all odds to become Chief Minister.
While Subhash Kapoor’s political drama is appreciated by the audience and critics, Richa Chadda is getting immense praises and applauds for her powerful performance and fiery act.
